Listen to Prince's Newly Unearthed Gem "Cosmic Day"

The Prince estate has unveiled the full version of the previously unreleased rarity, "Cosmic Day," which will appear on the forthcoming deluxe reissue of Sign O' the Times.

According to a press release, Prince recorded the revered tune on November 15, 1986 at Studio 3 of Los Angeles' Sunset Sound, alongside engineers Susan Rogers and Coke Johnson. 

Although bits and pieces of the song have been previewed by bootleggers, this marks the has engineers Susan Rogers and Coke Johnson. It is possibly the first time the revered recording has been released in full, showcasing "Prince at his most psychedelic." 

From the song's roaring race car intro to its driving rock beat, Prince puts his listeners in a trance as he sings in the high-pitched tones of his "Camille" persona.

Accompany this release, the Prince estate also shared a photo of his handwritten lyrics to the tune on his official social media accounts. The note includes some written cords at the bottom of the page. 

"Cosmic Day" is the third song featured on the deluxe reissue, which is set to release September 25. The massive box set features a trove of unreleased recordings, including "Witness 4 the Prosecution" and the 1979 version of "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man," which was released earlier this month.
